LIFE Connect: Program Update

The LIFE Connect program is designed to engage the community and local businesses to help support the continued growth of participants through ongoing education, fellowship, and financial incentives. There are monthly meetings with Community Businesses where participants can flex their financial muscles and use their newly acquired knowledge to learn about products and services they are interested in. This program is part of our Economic Empowerment programs, click here to learn more.

June 2016 – LIFE Connect Class Update

lifeconnect_ruthieballanceThe June 19th LIFE Connect meeting was a dual presentation. The Community Connection presenters were  Helen Kornblum from Natural Order Coaching and Organizing and Deanna Edwards from Thrivent Financial.  Helen spoke to us about mind mapping as a way to identify short, medium and long term financial goals and “map” out the steps for accomplishing them. Deanna  spoke with us about Insurance. She discussed the different types of health insurance, life insurance, disability insurance and how to determine your personal needs. We learned about Obama Care and the Marketplace, long term care planning, pros and cons of different product vehicles and how and when to purchase. It was very informative and provided an opportunity to ask a lot of questions.

The June recipient of the On Target $250 drawing is Ruthie Ballance. We are looking forward to hearing about how she applies the funds towards her financial goals.
