Have you been looking for a way to get involved, but lack the time to be a full-time board member? Are you interested in promoting Social Change on the issue of domestic violence? Do you enjoy attending annual events and functions where you can speak out about issues of violence against women?
Then we have an opportunity for you!
Peaceful Paths Domestic Abuse Network has been providing safety and education to victims of domestic violence in the Alachua, Bradford, and Union County area since 1974. Over the past thirty years, we have seen continued need for shelter, advocacy, crisis intervention, and support for the women and children in our community who are suffering in homes where violence is present. I know that our presence makes a positive difference in their lives and I believe our organization brings hope and empowerment to survivors.
At this point in Peaceful Paths’ history, I am looking to do more. In order to take the next step, from providing for safety and intervention to creating social change, I need your help. The key to ending domestic violence in our community is the support of individuals like you who cannot only provide us monetary assistance, but can lend their voices to the message that domestic violence is a crime that needs to be eradicated. Join our Board of Trustees and lend your power to the cause.
What the Trustees give:
- Annual monetary support of $300-$2500 for a 3 year commitment
- A powerful voice to spread the message that domestic violence needs our attention
- Assistance in building community relationships
- Attendance at one annual board meeting
What the Trustees receive:
- Recognition on the agency website, printed materials, and at all public events
- Tickets to the annual Guest Chef Cocktail Party in April
- Honored Guest invitations to all agency events throughout the year
Your contribution will help Peaceful Paths continue to provide training to over 7500 individuals each year and will allow the agency to print and distribute over 50,000 newsletters, brochures, and safety plans to the Alachua, Bradford, and Union communities. In addition, this funding will be matched to federal and state grants that will generate an additional $8 for every dollar you donate. This grant funding will support core services such as emergency shelter, hotline, transitional housing, counseling, children’s programs, and the violence prevention project. Your generosity will spread to every aspect of our mission.
Please consider this opportunity to become a vital part of the work to end domestic violence in our community. Together, we can make a difference and we can create social change.
