6th Annual Power of the Purse Brunch

Join Peaceful Paths on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Gainesville Women's Club as we kick off a Covid-conscious event, the 6th Annual Power of the Purse Brunch! Learn about the impact of financial abuse in the lives of survivors and ways you can get personally involved. You will also hear first-hand how our Economic Empowerment Program has created a path of self-sufficiency for survivors who have participated in the Financial Literacy Coursework.

The 2021 Power of the Purse event will be planned as a hybrid event this year to offer flexibility for participating. Our amazing handbag auction and program will be managed through a mobile bidding app to provide supporters the option to participate from home or in person. The designer handbag auction will open on Sunday, April 11 at 8 am and close at Saturday, April 17 at 12 pm at the end of the in-person brunch so attendees can take their winnings home.  *Should a remote bidder win a purse, we will have curb-side pick up at Peaceful Paths between April 19-20 or by arrangement.  This system worked perfectly for our Guest Chef auction!

We are planning a delicious brunch prepared by our friends at Dos Mamas that will offer the flexibility of social distanced dining at the event or grab-n-go for those that want to take their meal home.  Supporters that prefer to only participate in the virtual auction can do that free of charge! We have several guidelines in place to host a "Covid Concious" brunch.

  • We are selling a limited number of tickets so we will be at 50% capacity in the event space.

  • We are limiting the tables to six per table (tables usually seat 8-9). You can a reserve a table of 6 for just $280!

  • We will have a strict stand up-mask up guideline as well, so the only unmasked time will be while eating with your party at your table, which we will have spread out at least 6-8 feet apart.

  • Guests will have the flexibility of walking around the silent auction to get an in person peek at the purses, but the convenience to do all bidding from their cell phones right from their table!

We hope you will join us in support of our Economic Empowerment Programs at Peaceful Paths. To learn more about our robust Economic Empowerment Program, please visit HERE.

This will be our largest silent auction ever! We have brands such as Tory Burch, Dooney & Bourke, Kate Spade, Michael Khors, Steve Madden, Calvin Klein, Vera Bradley, Coach,  Spartina, Fossil, as well as vintage bags to choose from.

The handbag auction link will be available HERE by March 11 so you will have a full month to peruse the beautiful purses!  Brunch ticket purchasers will automatically be registered for the online bidding and SHOULD NOT create another mobile bidding account. We will email and text you your personal bidding information by March 11.  Bidders that are NOT coming to the brunch will register for online bidding HERE once it is open to the PUBLIC.  This will all become much more clear once we post the bidding link and we are happy to assist anyone by calling 377.5690 or emailing us at fundraisng@peacefulpaths.com.  Check back in March for more details on the auction!
