The Strength in Strides walk will benefit Peaceful Paths & local victims of domestic abuse and their children. By participating in our walk, you can join others in celebrating the strength, courage, and resilience of survivors and take a stand against violence. Walk participants can also help by inviting friends and family to join you, sharing event posts, and/or fundraising in the weeks leading up to the walk. By spreading the word, you are instrumental in helping us spread awareness throughout our community and giving hope to survivors!
All funds raised through the Strength in Strides walk will be used to support local survivors & provide critical services and safe shelter. Peaceful Paths is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Our mission: We exist to save lives and create change.
Please visit our agency website for more information about our programs, services, location, hours of operation, volunteering, and other opportunities to support survivors. www.peacefulpaths.org
Our address is 2100 NW 53rd Ave Gainesville, FL 32653
Yes, all adult participants (18+) should register and complete the required acknowledgement, which is part of the registration process. This helps us anticipate the number of attendees.
There is no registration fee for the walk; however, we encourage participants to fundraise and/or donate prior to the event to help us support survivors!
Yes. Children are welcome to join you, but should be attended by a parent at all times. You do not have to complete a registration for children under 18.
Wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable footwear. If you are not wearing the Strength in Strides official walk t-shirt, we encourage you to wear PURPLE to show your support for DV survivors. If you are forming a walk team and wish to wear a team themed or a logo t-shirt for your business, that’s encouraged as well!
We will have adult sized walk t-shirts (XS-3XL) while supplies last. You can get a walk t-shirt in one of three ways. Please note that you can choose to p/u your shirt at the walk welcome table the day of the event, or stop by our Outreach office during the p/u hours (10 am-3 pm) on 10/7 & 10/8. Address: 2100 NW 53rd Ave
You can purchase a walk t-shirt online during the registration process for $25 through October 7. You can click here to take you right to our page! If you have already registered (without t-shirt purchase) and would like to purchase a t-shirt, email us at fundraising@peacefulpaths.org and let us know your desired size.
*Please do not register yourself a second time.

We have a limited number of pre-made signs available for walkers that want to carry a positive message to show support. If you choose to make a sign, please keep in mind that messages should be empowering, provide hope, and are accurate. (Nothing political or negative) If you have any questions about your sign, feel free to contact us at fundraising@peacefulpaths.org.
Well-behaved dogs on a leash are allowed on the walk route, but not inside the brewery or beer garden where the program will be held, so please keep that in mind.. Strollers are allowed, but we discourage skateboards and roller blades for the safety of other walkers.
The walk route is paved. Participants are welcome to shorten the route to their capabilities. We also encourage people to attend the event even if they are unable to participate in the walk. There is plenty of seating at First Magnitude and ways to enjoy the afternoon and show your support for survivors!
This is a rain-or-shine event. However, in the case of severe weather conditions, we will cancel the event. In the case of cancellation, we will post on our event website and send an email to all registered participants. We recommend bringing an umbrella if there is “rain in the air”.
First Magnitude has a large parking lot so that should be your first choice. There is limited parking at Depot Park. We request that where possible, friends and teammates carpool!
The Strength and Strides walk route begins and finishes at First Magnitude Brewing Co. The majority of the walk route will follow the paved path in Depot Park, which is just a few blocks from First Magnitude. Peaceful Path volunteers will be posted along the route to point you in the right direction and offer encouragement to our walk participants. The approximate distance of the walk is 1 mile and should take 20-30 minutes to complete. Bathrooms and a single hydration station will be available along the route.
We are counting on companies and businesses to be leaders in the community and stand with us against violence. This is a great way to show your support for our mission to save lives and create change. Your organization can help by sponsoring the event! Your company can also assemble a walk team, but that is not a requirement for sponsorship. Forming a corporate walk team is a great way to amplify your impact and get your team involved! Click HERE to access our list of sponsor opportunities. We will also have several volunteer opportunities before and during the event. We will have a volunteer sign up available in early August. Feel free to contact our Director of Development at Stephanief@peacefulpaths.org or by phone 352-377-5690 to get more information about sponsorships.
